My 7 year old wants a red satin duvet cover set like her mum and dads. Would that be weird?

Would it be less freaky if the duvet set was purple?

I’ve never been particularly traumatised by a duvet cover myself.

Its fine, get her a different colour one if you dont like the idea of red.
You can get black also, that is very nice

What wrong with giving a 7 year old the duvet cover she wants? She doesn’t associate it with sex so there’s nothing wrong with it. I’d only worry if she was about 15, lol.

No idea why on earth you would think thats weird!

She just likes it, thats all.

I’d take it as a compliment and get her one.

Nothing wrong with a red or purple one..maybe she feels closer to mom and dad when her bedding is just like theirs or maybe she feels like a big girl with it..no matter what the reason, count yourself as lucky she wants a comforter that will last her years and not some cartoon one that wears off in a year or so. The only concern would be satin with a child, as you will have to have it dry cleaned….but if she is careful with it, and not spill water on it (bad for showing water spots), then I think it is great and will be easier to decorate around…who knows, maybe she is just a decorator way ahead of her years.

I had satin sheets when I was little, and it wasn’t weird. I just wanted them because i liked the touch. Get them a set in there favorite colour. And if that happens to be red, so what.

So what if it’s freaky? Whose opinion are you frightened of? Your little girl likes yours – she wants hers to be red too. It won’t hurt her.

i think she just wants to be like u. if you choose sexy satin, then she may follow as is the case. maybe u need to think about what bedsheets you choose in future, kids pick up on everything. if you tell her no, shes gonna think ur a hypocrite. if u say yes, then you feel weird about it cos u have associated your sexy sheets with sex. why do u think there are 10 year olds dressing like pole dancers with heavy make up? cos they see adults around them dressing like that and its normal to them.

it aint freaky for her cos shes innocent. so whats the problem or are you worried bout the neighbours when they come round.

Just buy a satin throw to put over the bed – cotton’s much more confortable!

If she wants it and you dont mind her having it then let her have it. Who cares if it is weird or not…its what she likes. If others dont like it then…let them eat cake.

I don’t think it is weird at all. I think it is sweet that your 7 year old wants to mimic her parents. I would say that purple is a cool color too as it denotes royalty. But I would say let her see various colors to see if there is a particular color she likes. If she picks purple she can be your little princess.
