I have a red duvet cover that is 65% cotton & 35% polyester with the reverse side being full 100% cotton…
I’m wondering if anyone has experience in this area – do you think I would be able to wash something like that? I have a front loading washer, so it would be gentle on it, and I only wash my colours in brights, as well as use the lowest heat setting on my dryer…would this work or is this asking for trouble? I really don’t have the money to dryclean, so I’m looking for a solution other than just airing it out.
Thanks in advance for all helpful answers!
yes, wash in cold and in a front loading washer without an agitator. Then dry on low in a large dryer so that it doesn’t get wrinkles.

IF you use a cold water detergent, half strength, like Woolite or Cheer. Use cold wash and rinse. Let it agitate for one minute, sit for five, draink, rinse, agitate one minute, drain. BUT you take a chance. For as often as you need to clean the overlet, why not have it dry cleaned and not take a chance.
I think the bigger issue is how to dry it, not wash it. You will have to hang dry it

You "can" wash anything that says dry clean only but the results will not be good. I would recommend not buying dry clean only items if you cannot afford dry cleaning.
