Accent walls in the bedroom?

I am thinking of painting an accent wall (or 2) in my bedroom. I recently did it in my living room and LOVED the results, so I was thinking about the bedroom too. My bed and a dresser is on one side, 2 windows and a dresser on one side, walk in closet one side, and 2 small closets and the door out the other side (opposite the windows). I am thinking about brick red, it goes with all my sheets/duvet covers and my carpet in the bedroom is cream, so I thought it would be a nice balance. Dressers are one is white, and one is oak. Do you think I should do 1 wall, 2 walls, and which walls would be the best? I was thinking about the wall behind the bed and the wall the door is on. Opinions?

When considering an accent wall remember that’s exactly what it should be an accent-in the bedroom the focus generally is the bed so choosing that wall is the correct choice(and only that wall) You already have picked a great color pulled from your bedding Take a look at(home depot) Behr antique red (S-H-190)IN the flat enamel ,its not too red -not too rust and has great coverage (something that can be very difficult with reds)

It sounds fine to me; just remember your accent walls are the first walls that you see when you first open the door or walk into a room.

I agree that you should paint the wall behind the bed; just that one. To make it a true accent wall, you should only paint one or else the room will end up looking choppy, I think.

Hmm…what color are the walls currently?

In my bedroom, each wall is a different color. (Because when I was 13, that sounded like a good idea to me.)
We recently just re-did my mom’s bedroom, and (since my mom decided that she thinks I’m the creative one in the family) she let me do the interior design, and I did the accent wall thing.
She’s now got three walls in a dark tan-beige color, and one accent wall in dark chocolate brown. It looks really nice in there, but I wish we had enough paint to do the opposite wall dark brown as well. The room just doesn’t look finished…

I like the idea of doing the brick red, especially since it would tie in everything. I would do the red on the wall with the door on it, and the wall with the windows on it.
Then when you walk in, the red window wall will pop out. But if you do two walls next to each other…it might make the room look a bit crowded/small.
Plus if you do the two opposite walls, the room will feel a bit longer.
And I think it’ll make the room look so much more warm and cozy. Haha.
Another thought would be to paint the other dresser white to match the first one…
It drives me crazy that all my bedroom furniture is white, but I have one of those circular papasan chairs, and the wood/wicker frame holding the cushion is brown! Ah!
    Haha. But that’s just me.

Just make sure you keep the room totally closed off so Dexter and Deb can’t inhale any fumes, or get in the paint. =)

….My black cat once rubbed up against bright teal-blue paint.
He was not happy about that. I ended up having to cut it out of his fur.

EDIT: I wouldn’t do the wall with the bed, because that’s just me. I consider my bed a hiding place of sorts, so I’d want the attention away from it. Hah.
But if that’s the route you’re looking for, then go for it!

Went through an "I want to be an interior designer" phase in highschool. Haha.
Wrote several essays on what colors make rooms feel like, what patterns make rooms look tall..
    blahhh…blahhh….
I realized interior design was too boring and cats were not. =)
