Hi I just got a brand new hotel collection king size cotton 300 thread count duvet cover that is all white and has a navy blue embroidered box in the middle. How do I wash it with out the blue bleeding?

do not put soap in the water on the first wash.

You would be better to go to the laundromat and do it there they have large machines and the duvet will have more room, use cold water and a detergent with bleach alternative . Also laundromats dryers are better, it will have more room to move around/.

Check tag for instructions. Cold wash/cold rinse, mild detergent and not on the heaviest washing cycle. Medium dryer setting. If has thickness inside (like comforter) toss a few tennis balls in dryer to keep it from clumping. That size of spread would definitely need larger washer & dryer – - laundrymat.

If wish, wash part of the blue (in the mild detergent you plan to use) at the sink & see if any blue is coming off. Test it first.

Wash in cold water and add about 1/4 cup of salt to the washer, when the washer get full of the water.
