I agree that the fur slides right off the satin--I have satin sheets, and it was fantastic for that purpose; the annoying thing being that I could never get the sheet to stay on the bed!

As for a duvet cover--I have a polyester comforter here in my dorm room and it's great; soft and hairs, cotton, lint, and whatnot just wipes right off.
References :
Wash/brush your dog more often and it wouldn't be as big of a problem. Not trying to be lippy here, but when my dog...who sheds alot...gets brushed every other day and a bath once a week...he rarily sheds. So get in the habit of grooming your pet and your bedding will stay nicer. PS - My dog is 150#'s!! I bet yours is smaller and easier to care for.
References :
My husband and I buy really cheap furniture and re-paint all of our furniture black with paint rollers or a power sprayer. It looks so classy and fun! We always get compliments about our black furniture and how nice it looks. Good luck!
References :
http://www.duvetscomfortersandbedding.com/

I don't think the pine would work with the style you're going for, but if it's real wood furniture, you could always sand the lacquer finish off and paint or stain it whatever colour suits you. (I would suggest spray paint for a smooth shiny finish, but if you can's get the furniture outside, use a foam roller with a can of paint). The handles should work as long as they're modern looking.

If your furniture is MDF (composite wood) you're going to have to get a special primer for it because you can't just sand that material and if you just paint it, the paint will peel off.

You could use a red rug or a patterned one that incorporates your colours.

Urban outfitters has some inexpensive ones as does IKEA, Target or Kmart may also have something that would work.

http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30112572 (comes in red) $40.00

Also check local carpet stores for remnants and closeouts.
References :
Paint your pine furniture black to go with the room. I think the silver handles will still match. The pink carpet is another problem. Look around for an area rug in black or white or even mixed. Check out discount furniture stores and online places like craigslist and ebary.
