I have you on my watch list in case you get an answer. Short of searching on line, I have not seen it anywhere. I suggest you go and do a search on Yahoo, there I have found a lot waffle-weave fabrics in all possible colors, also a mega waffle weave fabric, as well as clothing. There is a great selection on EBay.

I do not think that cotton duck material can be used for making a quilt as it is quite stiff. However I think you can try them out for duvet cover.

Yes, it is much too stiff — it would be like sleeping under cardboard.

It should be easy to find a pattern like that in a soft muslin, percale or other soft cotton. In fact, I have seen many sheet patterns like that floral. Buying two flat sheets and stitching them together on three sides with buttons or snaps along the fourth edge is a quick and economical way to make a duvet cover. The problem with making a duvet with fabric you buy by the yard is that it is usually not wide enough and you have to make a seam down the middle or on two sides to get the width to cover the bed.

It's stiff and it doesn't launder very well. It wrinkles a lot and it will shrink from washing and drying. Not the best fabric for bedding.

I've never heard of a cotton-poly blend you couldn't wash. Wash shirts like that all the time. Probably they're just protecting themselves if something were to happen, then they can blame you.

a poly cotton blend should be able to be washed! generally one of the main reasons to dry clean is to maintain a shape and style. i have dress jackets & trousers that i’ve tossed into the wash once i thought they were hopeless with strains that the dry cleaner missed so….i tossed them in the washer. while they weren’t as crisp they were clean and not destroyed so…. it’s a chance you will have to take.

If it isn't too terribly stained you might try Dry Cleaners Secret or something like that. It's a cloth that you dab on stains (if there are any) and then toss it and the item in the dryer for 20 minutes. I use it on my micro-suede duvet cover every couple of weeks to refresh it, then dry clean every so often.

Well a lot of t-shirts/clothing are poly-cotton blend and they are machine washable – as far as I know they are both pretty sturdy fabrics. But if it says dry clean only there may be a reason. Is it just a cover or is it stuffed like a comforter? Are there any parts of it that AREN’T poly/cotton? If it were me I would probably risk machine washing it on cold/delicate – or you can just get one of those Dryel sheets to "dry-clean" it in your dryer.

try washing on gentle cycle with mild dish soap.dry on gentle cycle

I machine wash things that say dry clean only all the time and nothing bad has ever happened to anything (except cashmere and wool).
