Does dark blue fabric look bad with dark brown wood?

Posted by Cotton Duvet Covers on October 29th, 2009 and filed under Brown Duvet Covers | 5 Comments »

I just bought a bed that is made of really dark brown wood. My duvet cover is dark blue with gold accents. Do you think this would look okay?

Here is the bed: http://www.ashleyfurniturehomestore.com/Showroom/LargeProductImage.aspx?PageId=Showroom&ItemNo=B551-72

And here is my duvet cover:

I’d like to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

I’ve actually already picked out some gold dupioni silk window panels…will that look okay? I could try to find dark blue ones instead.

I think that would look gorgeous together…really classy and elegant. Brown and blue go very well together….. just make sure everything else in your room isn’t that dark though.

    Wood looks good with everything.
Any color wood, any color fabric–it always works.

Good choice. This will look very elegant. Use gold or cream throw pillows in a solid or small pattern. This will bring out the gold in the duvet cover. Use gold or cream bed linens also.

You can carry the blue and gold into the rest of the room. If you can get curtains to match the duvet cover, then use gold tie backs or sheers. Of course, this would depend on the size of your windows.

Dark wood and dark blue is a very classy combination. Looks like luxury, very calm but not dull. Ralph Lauren uses that combo.
