I have had a couple comforters that weren’t too bad with our three cats (short-haired brown tabby, medium-haired black, and medium-haired orange tabby). I have had two duvet covers that were horrible. They grabbed fur off the cats, intertwined the fur into the material, and the washing machine did NOT get rid of the fur.
Any tips on material that is not as bad with fur? Our most recent one was 100% polyester sateen. Not sure about the other one as it went straight in the garbage.
Also, what colours might be best to camoflauge the hair as well?
Thanks a lot!
Tightly woven fabrics like cotton twill and denim hold up best to lots of machine washing and at least the hair will come out of them. Medium toned colors and fabrics with multi-colored medium toned patterns will hide the hair best but since you have cats of three different colors, finding something that will camouflage all the hair that will always be a challenge.
I’ve never been good at getting pets that were all the same color either. I swear I’m going to get all black cats and dogs in the future and buy all my clothes in black too!
I have an assortment of things in the bedroom, and being on a tight budget I need to make them all work together somehow. The bed is black faux-iron, and I have an ikea sitting chair that has a shiny khaki-green cover. I have two pillows I’d like to make into focus points. One is a huge red velvet heart-shaped pillow. The other is a matte silk pillow: ivory background with five-petal daisies printed in warm-tone colors. I desperately need to find a duvet cover that pulls everything together. I can’t paint the walls, since I’m in an apartment. My style is classic romantic with splashes of dramatic. I like bold colors.
I am thinking a gold tone.. matte finish..a decorative satin trim or edging would be o.k.,avoid it being predominate.
Or ivory with a green tinge rather than a blue..or yellow tinge.
I like bold jewel tones myself. So my room is romantic eclectic.
im 16.I HAVE DARK BROWN FURNITURE AND floor and i was thinking on painting my a pale pastel pink and geting dark fushia bed sheets. but now. i dont know what to do. i went to target and i saw really cute green sheets with white polka dots. shoud i use those? then maybe i can get a fushia comforter duvet and dark pink sheets and mix it up w/ the green w/ polka dots. would that still look cute? each bed spread set is 50 $ its expensive but u get 2 pillow case, mattres cover and sheets. so i can put 2 pink pillow cases 2 green w/ white dots and pink matress cover and green sheets and dark pink duvet. how can i bring out the light pink into my room again? do polka dots and flowers match? i also bought 2 black and white audrey hephburn posters and im gonna put those into fushia frames. maybe onto the frames i can have an artist paint baby pink flowers and add that green? i also have a chest that an artist will be painting light pink/ dark pink and green flowers on it? will this still match?
what types of accesories can i bring into my room that can make both choices match? lamps, curtains, rugs?i never thogh that i would like the green and pink idea. i do not want to go overboard w/ the gree. i also was thinking of getting chinnese lantern balls. maybe a dark pink small one baby pink and lime green? THANKSS! please give me ideas? links?
Hello! Well, first, if you have dark brown furniture, you should get a light color on the walls… If you want the combination pink/green, you may like these colors:
http://rlhome.polo.com/rlhome/products/paint/items.asp?haid=83
I´d choose "French Pink" or "Mission Wildflower" or even a lighter version of "Jamaica Green"…
Then, bedding… I really think that pink and green match… and I think that brown furniture goes with almost everything… I think that you should pick a light green color, a light pink and match them with bright pink… Something really nice to put different colors together is to use decorative pillows… So, if you paint your room a light pink, you could choose a light green bedding, light pink sheets, and then get bright pink, light pink and light green decorative pillows…

You can also try patchwork pattren in green/pink, or mix stripes and flowers in green/pink… Check www.pbteen.com, they´re expensive, but they have very nice ideas:

So, if you get only one color in the walls, you can use more colors in your bedspread… so, if you get tired of the bedspread color combination, just change it… it´s cheaper than repainting the whole room! Also, if you don´t want dark furniture you can paint it white! It´s not difficult, I have already done it once!

100% cotton duvet cover. Not sure if nail polish remover with remove or ruin. Thank you soooo much.
You can try either a non-acetone polish remover or light aerosol hairspray
I have a burgundy/gold saree hanging over my bed and have two duvet covers that I switch every so often (one is burgundy and one is a light gold) with the room having cream colored walls. What color would be best for some curtains and the bed-skirt? Burgundy, white, cream, gold, or brown?
(I tend to over-coordinate and don’t know if burgundy would be too much)
Leaning towards eventually having black furniture, but open to white.
A light pink would work very well if you want to focus on the burgundy. Otherwise, both white and gold curtains and bed skirts are great choices to tie the colors together.
Hope this helps

I am planning on doing some updates to my bedroom…its been a pale yellow for years and Im tired of it….
Well I plan on buying a rust/orange duvet cover….
Plan on buying either dark red, dark brown, or dark purple sheets……..
Im not afraid of putting a bit of color on the walls….its a bigger bedroom……
What would be a good color for the walls?
Don’t be afraid of color!
Deep golds and browns are in that family of color.
I have seen pillows and sheets and other articles with all of those colors in them.
Get an object and use it as your point of inspiration.
and have fun!
i would get it from cath kidston,
it isnt cheap but they are really pretty
also ikea do a nice heart duvet.
always check on ebay!!
LOADZZ of bargains.
I need a cover for my down comforter and I’m really big on softness so I’m looking for an Egyptian cotton sateen cover. Nothing too heavy either. I want to spend no more than about $200. I’m considering The Company Store’s "Legends" Egyptian cotton comforter cover, but am wondering if you have any other suggestions. Thanks.
please check out smartbargains.com first!!!! They sell very high quality linens for rock bottom prices. I just bought a duvet set from them, and i cant believe the quality! They get top name brand stuff! But they sell out things quickly, so if you see something you like, dont hesitate.
Yes, high thread count can be important. HOWEVER, in my experience, any thread count over 600 actually is not as soft. It makes sense if you think about it, more thread equals a heavier fabric. The appeal of high thread count has to do with longevity to some, and others actually like a heavier sheet. I like to stay in the 400-600 range personally. And also, the more you wash these linens, the softer they will get.
I hope i was helpful.
My room colors are turquoise and brown

http://www.beddingstyle.com/product/comforters/519777/city-scene-branches-spice-red.html
I do like both colors; however, decoratively speaking, I like the Spice Red more. You have more options with the Spice Red as you can mix any autumn color in the room and it will look fantastic. Accent color options for Spice Red are burnt orange, sage green, rust, brown, deep golden colors and tan.
If you like a more light and contemporary look, then the French Blue would be pleasing with browns and tans with splashes of coral to add pop and contrast.
But, I am sticking with my first choice, Spice Red.
Hope my suggestions are helpful with your final decision.
