I just bought a bed that is made of really dark brown wood. My duvet cover is dark blue with gold accents. Do you think this would look okay?
Here is the bed: http://www.ashleyfurniturehomestore.com/Showroom/LargeProductImage.aspx?PageId=Showroom&ItemNo=B551-72
And here is my duvet cover:

I’ve actually already picked out some gold dupioni silk window panels…will that look okay? I could try to find dark blue ones instead.
I think that would look gorgeous together…really classy and elegant. Brown and blue go very well together….. just make sure everything else in your room isn’t that dark though.
i just moved house and i want to have a new theme for my new room. i love rock music and i am 12 nearly 13. my mum already got me some red duvet covers and she said i could have graphics on my walls. ps i also want objects. thanks,
Gracie
You could go with a chic rock look by making your walls (or one wall) black and white with a design. Or you could by stick on wall decals that are black and paint the walls white, to achieve this look. OR, if you are really daring you can go for a really modern look by painting the walls black: if it is does correctly it can look really cool!
Just be careful when designing this room because you don’t want it to be to kiddy then you will grow out of it.
HAVE FUN!!
10 points if you find it of course. PLEASE!!! and, again, it needs to be solid. full/queen size too. thank you so much.

I am SICK of looking on line. They can’t be that hard to make even if it is striped which is what I am thinking. The paint looks different colors depending on the light and time of day. It is green in the AM, almost pale blue in evening and a combination of the 2 at night. (Benjamin Moore- essential sage)I am thinking brown or beige. Any suggestions out there?
I would go with a chocolate brown…looks good with pale blue and green.
I just noticed this on a white tank I wore to bed the other night. I love my sheets but I just ordered a white duvet cover and don’t want it to be ruined. I have washed them a few times already.
Put your sheets in a bucket or clean trash can with 1 quart white vinegar and warm water to cover them. Use a brick or rock to hold them under the water, if necessary. Let them sit overnight, then launder.
Test your sheets by sleeping in that white tank again.
Where can I find cheap duvet covers? I want pink. I don’t want to spend to much. I have tried a lot of websites such as pbteen, walmart, urban outfitters, target, overstock, ikea, and kmart. I don’t want to spend a lot.
How about using bed sheets. That would be an inexpensive way to go. And then just use tacks to hold it on. Hope this helps.
I recently purchased a velvet duvet cover and pillow shams at Z Gallerie and the care directions say Dry Clean Only. I usually wash most items that say dry clean only in the gentle cycle without any problems but I have never had velvet before. I read somewhere that velvet with cotton mixes should not be washed in the machine but it was not a reliable source. Anyone know for sure?
I wouldn’t. You may regret it if you do.They put dry clean only for a reason. Most velvets are dry clean only.
I have sage green walls and a dark cherry bed with posts….I need an idea about a duvet cover color. I was leaning towards cream or white with maybe chocoloate brown striping around the edges….do you think this will work? Do you have any other suggestions! thanks!
Go with cream and find decor pillows and throws in sage.
my son decided to play around with my nail polish, problem is he decided to do it on my bed, ended up pouring half the bottle on the duvet cover and whats worse is that it’s red nail polish, please help me get rid of this ghastly mark as cheaply as possible
Just nail polish remover will do it. You need to soak it and then rub it in it though so get the affected area and put just that into a bowl/container of remover. Once you’re left with just the colour you could try washing up liquid to get rid of the last bits.
